New D-Day map! (for bloody fights)
« on: March 16, 2008, 06:13:07 pm »
Hi Everybody,

My new map "D-Day" is completed now!

Its all in WWII-Theme with 1 shelter in the middle and some of these guys on the Beach: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tschechenigel (Czech hedgehog)

The map is best played with 2 Teams (Alpha&Beta) with 6 Players each!

I tested the map a long time, so I think all Bugs (with waypoints etc.) have been removed...

So download and have fun!

Please don't forget to write comments! So let me know if somethings not correct with the gameplay ;)

For a better game experience on this map use this WWII Mod:

First off, don't use MapMaker. DONT USE IT. Polyworks is much better. This community DEMANDS perfection, thats what we expect, and we usually have it. There are plenty of tutorials on using Polyworks, ITS NOT THAT HARD.
Shade this map before it even warrants my download.
Just another soul to burn.

I already used polyworks for this map, but now i'll try with shadering!

I will upload the new map when finished;)

This map has tons of problems.

  • A map with a layout like these can only be suitable for Infiltration games.  It cannot work with TM or any other gamemode.
  • You can easily remove all but the two U-Boats that are closest to the beach shore.  Remove the spawn points accordingly.
  • Pretty much all the stationary guns near around the bunker can be removed or moved to be placed inside the bunker itself.  Also, why did you place two of them right next to each other?
  • Add team flag spawns, Alpha flag, you can place it where the water meets with the sand.  Add a Bravo either right in front of the bunker or place it behind it in the far back.  Making it closer would make it much easier, considering how difficult this map already is.
  • Add some shading.

Gameplay, if these issues are fixed would be really fun.  I've played well made D-Day inspired maps in the past.

This work (Omaha beach) should be given to VTT... he would make a really nice map with this.

I started this project long time ago, but now that I leaved mapmaking i won't continue it.... If someone is interested in the work that I got made of this map PM me...

Ontopic: Shade this thing and make a much better polygon structure. Then begin making random maps. Get some tutorials or learn in your own, as I did.
I just recommend you to not to post all the maps you do, just the best ones.

Good luck
