Always wanted Xfire back in Soldat? Now it's possible again since there's no more BE.
Here's what you have to do:
If you're using Windows Vista or 7 go to C:\Program Data\Xfire\ (Program Data is hidden by default afaik, so just paste the path in the address bar)
For XP and earlier: C:\Program Files\Xfire\
Open xfire_games.ini in your favorite Text Editor (e.g. notepad) and search for "soldat". You'll find something like this:
[4183_1]
LongName=Soldat
...
;InGameRenderer=D3D8
...
[4183_2]
LongName=Soldat
...
;InGameRenderer=D3D8
...
Now all you have to do is
remove the semicolon ";" in front of that one line and
add InGameFlags=USE_PRESENT|ENABLE_MOUSE|USE_DINPUT_MOUSE in a new line.
So in the end it should look like this:
[4183_1]
LongName=Soldat
...
InGameRenderer=D3D8
InGameFlags=USE_PRESENT|ENABLE_MOUSE|USE_DINPUT_MOUSE
...
[4183_2]
LongName=Soldat
...
InGameRenderer=D3D8
InGameFlags=USE_PRESENT|ENABLE_MOUSE|USE_DINPUT_MOUSE
...
Restart Xfire and you're good to go.
Proof:
Xfire updates the games list regularly, so it might get overridden and you have to do it again. You could set the file write protected as a temporary solution.
Have fun with your Xfire
