Searching for images
« on: July 28, 2010, 02:22:14 am »
(I think it's not proper place for this topic - so feel free to move it.)

I'm searching for images that are in soldat's menu. Buttons, tabs, fonts and all the stuff that there are. I looked for it in soldat's folder but I can't seem to find it - probably it's not there.

Maybe I'm doing it wrong and only possibility to get them would be to crop them out of self made screenshots?

That would probably be the easiest course of action, yes. There's no "images" as such (save for the font .ttf files).

After asking authorities of mine (Mr on Quakenet) - I'm sure I won't be able to get it...cracking soldat.exe is not within reach of my possibilities.

Indeed there are no images. All buttons and tabs are one solid color and are generated by the layout manager. Your only course of action is to screenshot Soldat or copy the resources from sctfl.net.

Already thought about the latter - but first I have to ask ramirez whether I can do it.

It isn't like there is any transparency to deal with, just cut them out of screenies.

If you're using Windows 7 (not sure if Vista has it), you could use the "Snipping Tool" which comes with it.

I found a video to show how it works if you've never used it before. It comes in handy :D
