Currently, you can knifestab only horizontally, meaning that it is not possible to stab upwards or downwards. Do you think that it should be possible for the player to stab with the knife into the direction of the cursor?


there shud be a patch for the knife that makes the distants longer & A little faster..... Every1 knos that the knife cud be improved abit for god sakkes u cant even knife upward  :-\  :-\

Well Im Not Saying Im Expecting Soldat To Become Call Of Duty Im Just Coming To The Point Of A Little More Strength In The Throw Of The Knife And Multi Directional Knifing Have You Noticed You Cannot Knife Upward That Should Be Fixed

I'd like this but I think the problem is inherent in the animation; the weapon doesn't have it's own animation but rather it's a player movement animation like jumping and stuff. It might be hard to tell the animation to change itself according to the cursor.

Most people prefer to throw the knife anyways.

Espadon is correct to foresee problems with the animation system.
However, if you think about it, there is already communication between the players angle and gostek component rotations, such as the head and arms. The arm can play the normal 'thrust' animation, but the objects rotation as a whole can match the aiming angle upon firing.

Make stabbing a more useful and complimentary secondary attack then what is it.

Why not? Even though it's not exactly important since knives are thrown all the time and no one really bothers to punch you, it's a nice change to have.

I was thinking the same thing, the head rotates, following the cursor; animating and rotating the knife stab shouldn't be a problem. As to having this in an official update, it's just something that will need to be tested, make sure it works well and check for balance with the knifes... new ability. F12 100%

Yes...this has always pissed me off. Atleast make the stab a bit more effective
