b2b mirrored
« on: June 13, 2011, 04:59:40 pm »
i've always wanted to try make a mirrored version of b2b. well i still haven't but instead painted a half-to-half mirrored version of the red side of the map with the parts that i thought would make the best possible map in its entirety. opinions?

note: the (two) bridges don't show in the image but are meant to be there

Interesting concept. Smaller and more action.
It is hard to make an unmirrored and balance map, but original b2b is balanced already.
I think that you will hear this a lot but making b2b less wider make it less b2b.

i don't know what you're talking about but this version isn't any smaller than the original b2b and the original b2b isn't balanced at all. all i did was just copypaste the red side of the original overview and mirrored it

Good idea! It always bothered me to see how little b2b is played nowadays due to its huge disadvantage for the blue team.

I already did a mirrored B2B, but I adjusted the layout a bit. I don't really know if it is better or worse, but it's here :P

I'm not sure how badly the lower route was balanced in the original B2b but I did find it one of the best alt routes in the game. In this version it's only half as good :(:(

yeah, your're right, isn't bigger at all.
I've made a version with some small changes a while ago, but whatever.
This is interesting. You should try to put the original scenerys on the bravo side, maybe just a few tweaks so it's not THAT mirrored.

there isn't really much resemblance to b2b left at all

even the lower part of the blue base and the entire side was quite bad balance-wise. the red side basically has one choke point more making it a great load easier to be defended while the blue side has more uphill than the red side when attackin

just a fact, from SCTFL
ctf_B2b   61 alpha wins / 27 bravo wins

only Viet has a similar score, but with bravo winning.
