Waiting for Horus
« on: August 30, 2012, 09:47:54 pm »
So Steam Greenlight has started, and I came across this game 'Waiting for Horus'.

"Waiting for Horus is a multiplayer cell shaded twitch shooter, similar to the kin of Quake.
We developed this game for each others in response to the lack of recent of fast paced shooters."
Game page and information: http://wiki.xxiivv.com/029
Download: Windows OS X
Gameplay Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tSoZ-jd6cA

The only way to test the game is trough participating in the public events held every Sunday throughout September.
The server will be up 9th september, together with a new version release.
If you'd like to talk about the game others, you can reach them at #merveilles @ irc.esper.net.
To keep up with updates and information you can follow them on Facebook, or you could check on of the developers Twitter.

Developers have my respects for trying to bring the arena-scene back, but I've definitely seen better shooters with a similiar idea. Movement looks a lot like in Red Eclipse and what comes to the graphics, it's easy to build blank bricks and let the FX do the rest. Game can be good without graphics too yes, but little creative art in games is still better than nothing.

One of the developers decided to keep the master server online this whole weekend!
Does this mean the master server is offline frequently? I'm going to give this a try anyways so I hope it doesn't disappoint with the lack of everybody.

well, the game is in kind of alpha (lots of bugs, like none working scoreboards etc), they're atm just aiming on fine tuning the game play.
http://www.twitch.tv/seiotv/b/330857646 - Skip to 17:15, that's when the 2nd map starts, which is way better, and doesn't have glitched spots.

edit: So the devs said that they might leave the master server on for the rest of the month. They're soon at the stage where they'll "version" it, the next patch is supposedly going to be "massive".
edit: ah fuck it... seems the p2p is down too :/ ... not sure when they'll open it again.
