Soldat and Windows 8
« on: November 03, 2012, 12:44:57 pm »
Will Soldat actually get official Windows 8 support? I have downloaded Soldat on Windows 8 Old Desktop, it seems to have a lot of bugs, but i fixed some of them with customizing settings. Sorry if this is wrong board, but i thought this would be the board that is visited most.

it's the right board and this is a good question, sadly this must you answer one of the dev's, they're frequently arround, you'll get your answer sooner or later. (hopefully sooner  ;))

It's the wrong board, but don't worry about it. The board "Need Help? Report Bugs!" would have been more appropriate though.

Anyhoo, Shoozza did some quick tests and apparently it worked. We of course officially support this latest version of Windows - however disastrous and shitty it may be for desktop users. But that's for another topic.

I'm not aware of what "Windows 8 Old Desktop" is, so elaborate on that, as well as what bugs you're experiencing and how you worked around them. If nothing else, it could help others with similar issues.

By the Old Desktop i meant the secondary desktop, which is used for old programs and software that can't run in new interface. It can also be my hardware, though Soldat ran perfectly on Windows 7. But thanks anyways  :)

I did a quick test of Soldat 1.5.0 and it worked well offline.
Make sure you update the drivers (if it runs slow :>)

Will test the latest version when I get access to the machine again.

And yes we will support windows 8.
