Barrett m82 5 bullets ?
« on: October 25, 2012, 08:01:12 am »
Hi i Asked my self why the Barrett got 10 bullets i knew in RL it got 10 but , in a game it shouldn't be so... Or at least at Standard mode ( For RL mode it should stay 10) .

Here why.

1.
It is a 1 shot kill weapon if you don't kill a player with your first bullet you will mostly ( in 9/10 ) die even if you got 9 bullets left.

2.
It would be more "balanced" ( long list )
Deagles - must be reloaded very often
MP 5 - must be reloaded very often
AK 47 - must be reloaded very often
AUG - must be reloaded very often
SPAS -must be reloaded often
RUGER - must be reloaded very often
M79 - must be reloaded every shot
M82 - must be reloaded ones in a hour xD
M249 - Must be reloaded often
Chaingun - Must be reloaded often
Pistol - Must be reloaded very often
LAW - must be reloaded after every shot
You see only it doesnt fit it ...

3.
Will improve a bit gameplay Barrett players would have to reaload after 3-4 shoots to be sure of having ammo not after 8 or 9 ...

So vote ... :)

PS: This changes are only for STANDARD mode!

you know the reload time of the barrett is nearly nonexistent and this would not have any real effect on the weapon balance

very gut suggestion f12!!!!! :)))))) yes yes

This idea doesn't rule out changing the reload time, Dusty. If it somehow improved gameplay or balance then that would be awesome.

@Dusty
Yep I would really like the reload tame to "exist" the 0.5 sec reload is very very ugly doesn't knew why they made it :/

@14th_account
It would a bit you would have to reload it sometimes not like with 10 bullets ...
EDIT: Also its far better then now 10 bullets and " no reload time " :/

yeah i actually thought it right after i posted. however i don't see slowing down the pace of the barrett as a very good solution for the weabon balance. i actually find the weapon pretty balanced despite how overused it is on publics.

the solution is just using on the server a limit of 2 barret and 2 m79 script....some good host like Bonecrusher do it, cauze infact the barrett isnt overpowered at all, it's just when everybody uses it it might be too much for some.

Again, making it reload more often does not rule out other changes, such as buffs. =) And even then, balance is only a part of the trifecta of weapon modding where it has to behave intuitively, be fun to use and is balanced relative to the other weapons. I would dare to say that the current Barrett doesn't score top marks in any of these aspects.
