Admins being kickable
« on: February 16, 2013, 05:17:56 am »
What about admins being kicked, will it be changed to what it was before(we spoke about it on IRC shoozza, just looking for confirmation)?

Admins logged in with adminlog - unkickable
remote admins - kickable

Im chill like that

Admins logged in with adminlog - unkickable
remote admins - kickable

I dislike the idea of kicking behaving differently for remote or logged admins.

I never log in-game in any of the servers I admin.
There are 2 reasons for that:
1) Some admin passwords are pretty complex and impractical to type.
2) I don't want to risk exposing a password in the chat by mistake.
So I remote myself with ARSSE.

Remote admins were kickable since forever and it would be best to keep it that way. If someone wants to give someone a trial time as an admin you usually would make them remote admins first and see if they behave themselves properly. If they dont you can easily kick them and forget about their adminship. Adminlog is something you wouldn't allow new admins to have.

I pity those admins who set complex passwords, as you know I've been using one word passwords on my servers for years and no one ever guessed...

Been loggin with /adminlog adminlog command for years and it never made it to public chat, just pay attention on what you are doing mate, also you can set a taunt.

afaik you can enter the admin pass in the password field when joining to join and get admin.
Will probably work with faving servers too.

Isn't it possible to check if someone is admin via scripting?
Maybe adding something like that with remote admin and normal admin checking then on kick/ban you could cancel it.
