Only good reason for removing a map from the pool I can think of is the similarity between some of them. For instance, Cobra and Snakebite. There's a major difference in gameplay that takes place in the center area, but the entire layout implies they both come from the same blueprint.
I think the best solution would be to fix the texture and polybugs on all current
all the maps mention in the initial post are great public maps, i don't see the point in this suggestion. as utkesmer said, removing them would do nothing. like the initial post stated, only single clans play some maps. this however doesn't hurt anybody as these clans in the competitive scene are way too small to make an impact and these cases only generate versatility which i personally like
The premise of this post accounts only for the competitive scene. You talked about abandoned maps, but that does not apply to pubs. It is not a big problem if those maps were abandoned by the competitive scene. Some are better for gathers, some are better for pubs, which is a good thing because both aspects must be accounted. I remember that
About ctf_Snakebyte Almost every time that sctfl statistic is shown, they forget to put the %. We change the least played maps in the competitive scene because we see improvements in them and they won't change much in the championships. Also, Soldat has now several types of new polygons that can be explored and used to improve the gameplay.
