Photoshop issues. Please help.

Hi guys. I'm learning to use photoshop, and I wanna make this really cool Matrix alike text. Anyway, I'm stuck quite at the beginning. I found this toturial about how to do it:

At step 3, it tells me to use the font I downloaded at step 1. I added this in the c:windows\font folder thing, but it doesn't show up. Well, it shows it in Microsoft Word, but it's not available in photoshop.
Should I put it somewhere else, or what could be causeng this?

I sometimes have the same problem after downloading new fonts. I haven't really figured out how to fix it exactly, but restarting PS a couple of times always does the trick (it scans for new fonts on start up).

For some reason it works now. I haven't really done anything, it just worked all of a sudden. Wierd..

Anyway, you guys can lock this.

If all you're going to use photoshop for is trendy McTrendwhore matrix text, stop right now.

As I said above, I'm just learning the ways of photoshop. The next step seemed obvious - text effects, and as a true matrix fan(yay), i figured I'd just have a go with it. No trendy McTrend thing, just pure 101..
