Server-side Votekicks are they still viable?

I've just receviced a PM from a player asking me to unban him due to server votekicking him for no reason whatsoever. After going through banned players list ive noticed vast majority(80%) were issued by server-side auto votekick.  For the most part they've been banning innocent(i think) players and there's no way to stop it. Not sure what's servers reasoning behind it, but they will permanently ban a player if he manages to join the server with poor connection or during mapchange. I'd be grateful if I could disable them, would save me trouble cleaning banned.txt files. I don't see relevant setting in either soldat.ini and server.ini if its somewhere else please enlighten me. Of course I could request a script which could clear all the bans if line contains "vote kicked by server".

Probably flood when they enter game, servers flag them as a cheater and ban them. Had that few times, even on my own servers...

I always set 1 in soldat.ini
"Disable_AntiCheat_Kick=1"

If someone gonna cheat this setting not gonna change anything... because if it was set to 0 and still I saw hax playing so why annoy normal players with this...

PS. there was similar topic about auto kick, maybe there should be something about this, I remember that I post there part of script that you can use to vote player as a server with custom text, and you can set information in lobby(when normaly you get info about ban), I had there note: soldat.exe error, Reinstal game xD xD oh... that was epic...

We need to check the server votekick code someday.
I think there are ways to get banned when you join after playing on another server (at least i remember there was something like that). If you know how to reproduce a invalid server votekick you should report it on the bugtracker.

IIRC when you would play on DB RPG servers (scripted by JotEmI) and then join a weapon restricted server (like Knife Only) you would get voted for having an invalid weapon, even though you didn't really have it. Now I haven't been playing on DB RPG much, so I didn't experience that myself, but I'm sure DB community (if they still exist) knows better.

Also, it's a weapon based votekick, not a totally random one, but still. Doing my best to help somehow.

Still getting emails from players getting banned via server side votekicks for no reason. Usually occurs when a player is leaving heavily modded server like DB Rpg and joins normal mode.

This sounds like weapons and settings are not reset after playing on those servers.
Is there a server which can be used to test this?

I guess you will have to look for a heavy modded server play there for a while and then join a vanilla ctf.

I was able to reproduce this in 5 minutes, people are very lazy nowadays.

But it't only one situation, in this case I should be kicked only on 15 minutes, I dont know how to reproduce situation when player want to be permanently banned by server.

Yeah the devs have to be lazy else we will run around reproducing bugs all day without coding anything (this is one of the things that the players can greatly help us with)

You don't need to reproduce it, just disable it completely.

I saw something like that too long time ago. Definitely a bug. I'm currently not looking a lot into the bugtracker but once 1.7 is out most of the bugs will have to be checked for reproducibility.
