#soldat.gather dead?

So im enjoying late night conversation with some random soldats via arsse, and it has come to my attention soldat.gather is dead due to 'no more servers'? Does anyone know whats exactly going on?

Players started to use other gather channels because of banrules or whatever, so it's closed because of inactivity. Probbably dead forever

Just use #sna.gather.

mar77a is long dead but apparently those guys found out I have root on ryan's server that hosts snag so they nag me to upgrade the servers whenever a new version of soldat comes out or fix the gather bot whenever it dies.

They're honestly a bunch of rude assholes. Nothing like getting a private message on irc screaming "FIX IT rgpj !!!"

Apparently #gather.eu had less draconian rules. Over time it was just quicker to get a match going there, so #soldat.gather eventually became unused.

#soldat.gather is officially closed for a few months now and it was inoficially dead for a few years since ppl. Started to play on other channels.

The official reason for sg's shutdown was not about the innnactivity on s.g and not about the hosting but ymmes said that gathers have a bad immpact on the community, which is a dumb stateeme after all.

There is still #gather.eu and
#sna.gather (which isnt active at all though)

It's actually not a big change, sg was dead since 2010.
