People cant join my game.
« on: October 06, 2006, 06:27:22 pm »
I made a hosted a game and it shows up on the server list but I could not join it. (From a laptop not same computer)

I also did the port test thing and got this.

Soldat Connection Tester - by EnEsCe

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OK. Please wait while we test your port configuration... (This may take up to 2 minutes)

Step One: Ingame Connectivity Test
Sending PING test to 74.68.26.87 on UDP Port 23073... PASS! (70ms)
Sending REQUEST test to 74.68.26.87 on UDP Port 23073... PASS!
Sending JOIN GAME test to 74.68.26.87 on UDP Port 23073... PASS!
Step Two: All-Seeing Eye Test
Sending test to 74.68.26.87 on UDP Port 23196... PASS! (70ms)
Step Three: Remote Administration
Sending test to 74.68.26.87 on TCP Port 23073... FAILED!
Step Four: Map Download Connections
Sending test to 74.68.26.87 on TCP Port 23083... PASS!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TEST RESULTS:
- Total Passed: 5/6
- UDP Check: check
- ASE Check: check
- Admin Check: error (Vital)
- Download Check: check
- Final Test Result: FAILED! Please check your network configuration.

I know I forward 23073 with TCP and UDP but I still get this error.

(The test also joins as a spectator)

I have my ip set to static.

But when I do this...

Once you have added all 3 ports and saved them (Will say how-to on the guide) you are ready to go.
Start up the soldat server and check out the soldat lobby [2] or [3] and check for any mis-regularity's.

I have this problem...  Soldat Link not having the same port you forwarded (Place your mouse over the name of server and look at the link. eg: soldat://203.59.123.236:23073/ means port 23073 has been correctly forwarded)

It changes all the time.

What can I do to fix this, if it is the problem? Would it be the NAT thing?

Are you using 2 seperate rules for 23073 TCP&UDP? If not, make a seperate rule in your router for each protocol, make sure the 23073TCP rule is the same as your 23083TCP rule, just change the port ;)

Since 23083 works 23073 should work if you've forwarded em' right :S

Rule Soldat2 should only be 23083 TCP, the others are fine

mmk, well according to the port test results your server is setup correctly except the remote administration port.... But as for your laptop, is it connected to the router? If so, try entering the IP address as your servers LAN IP rather than Internet IP.
