AOL stereotypes still breeding?
« on: September 12, 2006, 07:32:09 am »
AOL. The infamous home to young simpleton internet users who lack a grasp of basic english, social skills or common sense.  I thought the stereotype for these type of people had died out years ago, and that such idiots had stopped breeding.

But, we had a recent visit from a fella called Soul_Eater. Cute guy, spammed a bit. He came on IRC too, boasting such memorable quotes as:

<SOuL_EaTer^> ???
<SOuL_EaTer^> i us aol
<SOuL_EaTer^> lol
<SOuL_EaTer^> ya cs is great
<SOuL_EaTer^> u smoke cok
<SOuL_EaTer^> omg y ban me i dun nuthing wrong

...so endeth his experience with us.  To be honest, I still can't tell if he was having a laugh or not.

Now, I was kinda under the false impression that the classic stereotype - young a.d.d ridden american who plays CS and likes to 'pwn', priding linguist skills similar to a rapper on prozac and an IQ that only an unemployed trailer-trash cat-scraper could boast and perhaps puts on his CV to cover the lack of basic education - was 'fading' from the internet.  Granted there'll always be idiots, but I mean this kind in particular.
And not to say americans are the only suppliers of such individuals, as i've seen more than enough euros and the like to boast similiar traits (Soul_Eater is finnish), though the stereotype certainly stands fixed in the centre of the states for some reason.

So what is the general info on this population of twats? are they growing or fading? Is it Europes turn to create it's uncontrolled breed of super-idiots? I thought they were slowly becoming a minority myself, but I live under a rock. Perhaps they've all been pushed firmly into mainstream gaming communities, leaving the rest of the internet relatively clean... I ain't got a clue guvs. Fill me in.

Leave the fellow be. He's just a tad young for IRC, etc. Give him time and he'll get old enough to post maturely, as he seems to be the same age (or younger) than my sister right now.

Thanks to Australian government, AOL doesn't exist in Australia (and if it does,...fucking politions). BUT!...Why stereotype? I was ADHD ( Attention Deficate Hyperactive Dysorder....more crazier than ADD) when I was young...I play CS, I like to PWN (although I lack the skills...) and I never finished school. Does that make me a "Twat"? I don't see how, just because of your "position" in this forums, you have the right to stereotype. Frankly, I think your a "twat". Your the only admin I've ever had a problem with. I mean, What the F**k is your problem? Counterstrike is a cool game! I can bet that the majority of this forum has played Counterstrike at least once in their life. The only problem with counterstrike is the 13 year old kiddies who yell "OMFG AWP NOOB FAG HAX!" every time you pull off a good kill.
 moving on....
What is wrong with PWNing? Do you lack the skills to PWN? Have you never PWNed before? Do you know the rush you get when you win a game?...well, maybe it wears off after a while, but I find pride in being able to PWN every once in a while!

And, WTF? Not finishing school?...Well, I never finished, because of my dislike of the assholes who rob your locker, and the teachers who flunk you just because you PWN them at their own subject.

Trailer Trash?...Do you know how many people actually live in trailers/Caravans?.....

I'm not going to go on, but don't put people down just because of what they are. Everybody has an inner twat, look inside yourself!!!

go ahead, ban me/delete me now for putting you in your place...It'll show me how big of an Ass you are....
Just another soul to burn.

Chakra means the mentality of people like him, that think they 'pwn' and are cool just because they killed some people in a video game
And people who leave school are dumb or way too lazy :>

hehe... I just love your little speaches, Chakra`. It seriously makes me laugh.

Anyway, I think it's a fading population. It's been ages since we had one of these 1337 spammers, it was even back in the old forums, I think. I wouldn't worry too much about this, though. These people are quick to find out not to do this or they'll be banned. Perhaps some of you recall, but I started out as one of them. Back then my name was seraph, and I made major rank(50 posts) in 2 days. I was banned, and after a couple of months I returned as Echo_Trail, a man reborn who learned his lesson.

Forum spammers are the least of it, really. The real problem is ingame soldat. Sometimes these stupid jerks come along, starting to tk and crap. I was actually in a game not so long ago, and this fellah was using taunts all the time. Not just normal taunts, but more like:
[random Newb] ^OMG I PWN!
[random Newb] ^If you kill me, its because I let you
[random Newb] ^I pwn u all stupid noobs
etc., etc...

That's just plain annoying. Here on the forums the administration is quick to respond - and thanks for that. On any given server there's nothing the common soldier can do about it, 'cept for votekicking.
I fucking miss all you cunts!

Ultra-realistic combat flight/naval games such as Silent Hunter 3 and IL2 Sturmovik generally have more mature players, although that might be because they are just a few empty gun slots away from being Microsoft Train Simulator and MS Flight Simulator.  ::)

Two letters without a space inbetween them doesn't make it a word, it makes them two letter without a space inbetween them.. Or do you not know that "u" and "r" are letters?

Reminds me of an old Playstation flying game. When you flip your plane upside down, this annoying mechanical lady's voice starts saying "PULL UP PULL UP" over and over, it's ****ing annoying :D

Was mechwarrior a sim? It's classified as one, but it's on fictional technology :/

We hijacked the thread, no?
