Registering Problem

Just a quick question.
I'm trying to get a normal dedicated server working.  I am behind router atm, and am going to open the port numbers to allow people to connect. Before doing so, I have been having some problems.

It continues trying to register to appear on the server list. It says that it is veiwed, and it does not work.
Does this have anything to do with the router?

your server will show up on the lobby list without having the ports opened.  You still need to open the ports in order for people to join.

If this doesn't answer your question, then I need a better explanation and question first, sorry

the lobby servers are bugged, sometimes i have to restart the the selfkill lobby to get my servers in. but i have no power over the other lobbys ;(
