SO EASY!??!!

Hey all,
Im new 2 these forums...
I have just begun to play Soldat online. Before that i had to play bots.. (seeing as my mates couldn't come around all that often)...
I always put bots on impossible but.. there still way to easy!!!!
What do you all think...
P.S I think playin online is so much betta!!!! lol :P

First of all, welcome to the Soldat Forums, SeR!aL K!lLeRz.

Yes, bots are very dumb and very easy to kill, as in any other games. (A good example of a game with stupid bots would be Battlefield 2, I remember when I first played that online... oi, oi, oi.) The main reason why the bots are so stupid is that they can't foresee where the player is going, and that they can't get ready to fight a player going for them that is on the other side of a polygon.

So, I guess as a conclusion; bots are stupid and generally sucks.

i just hope that with the new version of soldat comes harder bots :P
They could at least make bots have like 150% health or they spawn with armour or summit.. lol

If you reslly want a challenge out of bots, try making the bots more dangerous by edting the weapons and increasing their numbers (ie. you vs. 30 bots that have fire spewing chainsaws). I live in a shitty internet area atm so whenever i go for a game of Soldat I need to be creative.

Although what I said could be completely redundant as I read your post and realized you've started playing online.

Well iwant them harder not loads of them..

You can first of set the bot eye quality to the highest value if you haven't already (do this in the Soldat Setup) and create a bunch of bots that only uses the barret or the M79 as an example (you can find some good bot creation programs if you go to the Fan Apps section in here).

Or you could, as Ben said:

ironic though - they can predict EXACTLY where you will be at the time a bullet they fire hits you (thus if there were no bink and recoil, etc. they'd have perfect aim) yet they can't predict the most obvious strategies in gameplay.

Ya, I haven't "played" with bots since many years.  Online is just too fun esp. with people you know - or w/ people that just suck (gives me pleasure sometimes)

well, if they see you then they can go for you instead.  I wish MM would create super smart bots - bots that can actually naviagate the map based on it's structure - they fly on their own, they move on their own - the perfect killing machine.

Yeah, the bots really are pathetic, and unfortunately the creator said they're really low in priority on his to-do list. Did you know they're not affected by bink, tho'? ;D

Umm, I thought that was the point of bots. They are SUPPOSED to suck. Every shooting game I've ever played, the campaign and stuff bots are retarded, and human players are phenom. I say leave them, it makes online play more fun.

umm, how bout you just edit their accuracy to atleast 90%? that might help. also, ai is very complicated, and the closest ai to the one zyx described is the radiant ai developed by the oblivion team, but that couldnt be applicable to something like soldat, now could it? if you try to work with ai programming, youll see how tuff it is to get more than completely mechanical responses(they all are, but its very difficult to make a mechanical response that doesnt seem mechanical).

or you could just copy and paste sniper.bot in the bot folder a few times so you can do a suitable 1vs5 brret match

Or to make it easier, type /addbot Sniper in-game a couple of times.
