Silenced weapons would be absolutely useless; you could just mod the sound, creating an unfair advantage in online play.

....no, you cant mod otherpeoples sounds. you mod ur own sound files, they dont download them after that. abusive advantages only work with graphics, and maybe you should try it if you dont think so. dummasses. uhh(annoyed). i didnt see anything along the lines of a billion times, and ur not supposed to revive an uber old thread. also,did you say no to both silenced an night vision, or just one or the other? i liked the idea of them being changes to the predator mode, cuz those weaps rnt really silenced, an nvg would only be scripted for a few maps. please, read entire thing an make intelligent posts, this idea of it being in pred mode only is the new idea.

actually, you're quite wrong. if i were to go into my soldat folder and replace every weapon sound with a kid screaming, that's what i'd hear. even if it were somebody else's weapon being fired.

yeah, umm, thats exactly what i was saying. its what YOU would hear, not everyone else in the server or bots. it doesnt matter if yo umake ur weaps silenced, ur modding YOUR sound files, and everyone in a server doenst download everyone elses files, they use the hosts settings. its a reverse abused graphics mod.(puts you at a disadvantage)

Yeah. That's EXACTLY what I meant. You can change the sounds in C:\Soldat\sfx or run a mod.
Then the sounds will be normal to you, so there's no point in silencing them.
And silencers are illegal over here, anyway.
