The Link Dump?

What do people think about the link dump? In my opinion it should be changed to a single post where moderators can add interesting links posted in lounge topics.  The link dump is hardly used for posting links since it is barely read and typically receives little discussion on the links posted.  Since there are now 4 + 1/4 moderators in the lounge there wouldn't really be much of a problem controlling the links posted in topics, locking\deleting ones that are inappropriate or have already been posted many times.

I've seen a board with such a section. Each link gets its own topic, and people comment. It was fairly successful

Seperate forum for links? Good idea I say. We have the link dump so a topic doesn't have to be made for every link someone finds.  Also it decreases spam since alot of the posts would be stuff like "LOL GOOD LINK" "OMG FUNNY." Keeping it in one section would be handy of course.  I woudn't get your hopes up though.

That's not spam, that's an opinion, "lol good link" might be simple but it's still an opinion and if someone posts a funny video, I don't see why would anyone have a long serious discussion about it.

I also really like the idea of a seperate link dump forum That way each link gets its on post and dosn't clutter up the lounge!

I don't like the Link Dump either. Feels like it's made because the moderators will only have a good excuse of locking topics with links on them. The thread is hardly being used and links rarely get discussed. But I don't like the idea of a separate link forum. People would still keep posting links to the Lounge, and a lot of unnecessary confusion would happen. What's so bad with posting links to the Lounge?

If you people would just read the description in the link dump, you'd know that it was intended for just that: LINKS.

I said you could always start a thread with a link, writing your own thoughts about it, and inviting others to give theirs.

If you're just going to post a single link, do so in the Link Dump.

Links to a random funny video or game don't deserve their own topic.
