Anyone remember my last topic? Well, just in case: I promised Ill do a remake of one of my first maps, which was Freefloat, a deathmatch map, back in 1.1.5 times. It was looking plain ugly but it turned out to be quite playable.

I tried remaking it, but failed to reconstruct the playabality of it without taking exactly the same shape. So I went a different way. I took the basic layout of Freefloat, plus the essential middle part and made it smaller but open. What formerly was a good T/DM map, is now a fast-paced, different-range combat HTF map that also suits T/DM play.

Recommended team size: 2-4 (best: 3)
Recommended game styles: HTF and T/DM (also flagmatch and Rambo)

the map does also support CTF, but I doubt its really playable in that mode.

Really talented waypointer needed. Due to the "openness" of the map, its almost impossible to not make the bots fall into the bottomless pit all the time. But youre free to try.

Have fun playing!

I really like the open layout. It'll make for some nice quick escapes. I plan to wait for some one to wypt before downloading, but from how it looks the gameplay should be fun.

I've gotten exposure to open spaces thanks to a particular futuristic space map by numgun, so I think I'll try tackling this.

EDIT Oh, BTW, there's nothing I can do if bots get into combat a lot. In fighting they switch to some weird combat-only programmed behavior and ignore waypoints until they kill all others on their individual mapscreen or come out of the line-of-sight of other enemies :(

If anyone has playtested this map, do you think it's too small? I feel like resizing it, and grand_diablo's given me permission to do so if you guys agree...

Yay, diablo's back.

Great map, though I wish more people played HTF.

Where do you want the bots go? what kind of loop should they make?
