Duplicated poly's error
« on: October 21, 2006, 07:32:36 pm »
I have recently made a ctf map and my clan was trying to test it with me and the whole one side of the map, the poly's didn't catch the players or nades or health. The map is symmectrical, and I duplicated the one half, and mirrored it over, and that is the side that's not working. I really don't want have to redo that whole side. Is there anything I can do to correct this error?

It sounds like you need to compile your map.  Remember every time you update a map, it needs to be compiled.

I compiled it and sent it right to our server owner. I took the file right out of the Maps folder in my soldat game directory. I even tryed compiling it again. Still didn't work. And half of the map works, it's only the side that was copied that doesn't work.

Attach the map to post. I want to see what's up.

Here is the compiled version. We were going to play test it on our server and then let me finish it, but yea..

It will work if I just start my own game in soldat, but if I give the file to the clan leader and we puts it on the server, the whole right half is messed up (you can't walk anywhere you just fall right through).

The polygons WERE working, when I did it on my computer. And I was not complete with the map, as it was not shaded. I didn't want anyone to finish it for me, but thanks.

Im just asking why it was working on my computer, but not working on our server.

Tell your serverguy to upgrade his dedicated server to 2.5.2, it's the latest and greatest version.

We're renting from U13, does that make a difference?

Did you check the bottom of numgun's post? He uploaded a fixed version of the map.

So whats stopping you then?

It doesnt have a ''shade-lock'' or anything. christ.
Just shade what you want and press the ''compile map'' when youre ready.
