Cato, all I have to say to that is secondary. Anyway, no, saw is already quite good with a few select people, if it were better it would be a crazy death machine of doom and death.

And people that don't treat the saw as a primary totaly sucks with it. by the time you take out the saw, your already past them.

I liked the idea of the startup time, and for ammo....make it just like the knife, no ammo at all, at least.... infinite with no reload...

no point of start-up time if it's constantly on :D

Partly in response to this forum(partly for fun in a 12 on 12 inf match wen I was on red lol) I realized adding 10-20 ammo for the saw would make it quite a bit better. Infinite ammo would make it an uber weapon.

I like the way leo modded it (and the way ive wanted it for some time now).
Has double the ROF
80 ammo
short reload
If the saw touches you, your a goner.

Its not like the saw can be overpowered either, since you have to get pretty close...

Startup time > reload.  The frequent reload is ridiculous -- a one-time startup would balance it well.

No it wouldn't.  The point of the reload is that players can't just run around with the saw on all the time.  They have to time it correctly to get the maximum kills.  I like the saw as is.

Only anime shows I've felt any interest in over the years are Pokemon (original TV series) and various hentai.

The point of the reload is that players can't just run around with the saw on all the time.

There are better ways to prevent that than a reload time.  Maybe it could have some kind of overheat, like the .50 Caliber Static Gun.  An overheating motor is at least slightly realistic... having to refill the gas tank every 5 seconds is utterly retarded.

The reload thing is a makeshift way to say that the chainsaw overheated (Note the smoke and the faint *puff* *puff* sound)

Without the reload people will just run around making that annoying chainsaw buzzing noise. The way to use it is start sawing once you get close to your victim.

Personally I think its very well balanced other than its easy ability to spawn kill. But in deep battles its one of the most interesting forms of weapon balance I've seen.

Fair point, but why have it so makeshift?  A gradual overheat/cool-down, like the Static Gun has, would work much better.

OK, I would suggest taking off the saw sound. Have it only make noise when you are holding down the fore button. This would make it more effective in like R/S games where sound is so important.

Also, it think it would be cool if you moved faster while holding the saw.

But the sound on is the best part of it :(.

I think that there is nothing wrong with the saw, and if there is, its nothing that adding a little ammo cant fix.
Without originality society is doomed.

Exactly, it is nerfed or anything, you just gotta be fast and not stop. It is actually the most fun gun in the game and if you are good you can get quite a few kills in a short amount of time, especially against those noob campers >:(

saw is not only the most fun weapon in the game, it's also the most lethal if you know what your doing.

The thing that makes the saw bad is lag. I have sat there and spent 5-10 ammo on someone and they don't even get bloody, that is why I don't use it often unless in a server with almost no ping.

I use it pretty frequently over at U13 DM at which I have about 150-200 ping. I still think the saw is pretty good as it is, maybe a slight increase in ammo would make it perfect.

After some ssaw ownage the other day, I realised that lagg can be overcome if you start 'firing' the chainsaw like a  second before you chop up your victim. it works a great deal of the time. It's mainly because on your victims screen, he apppears farther forward than it does on your screen. Thanks to lag =).
