Having considered the pros and cons I listed above, I chose to buy from an online third-party retailer called Costcentral.com. At time of writing, CostCentral sells the model for $1442, whereas Lenovo sells the model for $1599+tax+shipping.I was very satisfied with CostCentral's customer service. I talked to their customer representatives three times online and twice through email. Each time the response was quick and helpful. They also have real-time online inventory check (although some buyers question its accuracy). The return policy is very restrictive, but hey, you can't have everything.I read that people sometimes wait for weeks (even months) for Lenovo to deliver notebooks. With CostCentral, I ordered on a Wednesday afternoon, and the computer arrived on Friday of the same week(!). The fast (and free) shipping was definitely my best experience with them.
Hmm. Anyone know a good reliable online retailer that can ship to Canada relatively fast?
