inf_faradr. What scenery to use?...
« on: November 24, 2006, 05:05:10 pm »
Okay, I have a question about what kind of scenery to put in this map.
I was thinking just boxes and barbed wire, but maybe thats a bit too 'empty'?

I edited the screenshot a bit, now theres a few red dots around a gostek put for reference standing on a hill near the right side.

One more question: Is this map horribly unbalanced?

Well first change that background :S...maybe make it a very light color and then put dark colored scenery, such as wire, rocks, and the such. Maybe a couple dead grasses hanging from the rocks. Also yeah boxes would look good on this. I think a couple patringly placed jungle trees would look good also, maybe tinge them a lil gray.

Is that a desert?  Put some bushes and cacti around.  Give it a sun, too.

Polygon colors are a bit bland

The map is not unbalanced; I think it's very well for an Inf. map, actually. If anything, it could be tilted in Bravo's favor, for spraying the wide open spaces to the top-right and 'nade-spamming that narrow tunnel. If I had that layout I would scrap the narrow chute underneath the Bravo base and keep the subterranean path going to the left, and emerging on the left side of the structure. Plus, continue the ceiling from the top-left all the way to the right, like inf_Outpost

I can't give any scenery suggestions because the atmosphere presented is confusing. It seems like a desert map but the given background colors try to force on it a jungle-environment. Pick an atmosphere solidly, and then we can go from there. :)
