My player gets stuck in the crouch position and slide across the map...

This happens every once in a while. I'm not quite sure what triggers this. I think I did something in the crouch position, then my player starts sliding fairly quickly across the level, and I can't control anything other than the mouse. I can't fire, stand, or jump. All I can do is move the mouse to turn around. It always stops when someone kills me, though. Has this happened to anyone else?

Its a known bug, that isn't going to be fixed. Says Michal.

I hate it. Always comes at the worst possible time, and then you'll get some people thinking the person affected by the bug is hacking.

I know what you mean. It kept happening while playing online. Everyone got pissed at me.

Hmm.. happened to me the other day, and I tried hitting the prone key like you said above. That didn't work for me. However, I desperately tried to throw away my weapon, and that helped. Ofcourse I now had to find my prim. weap, or go about with my sec. weap.. Gotta love the socom.

Crouch bug

When rolling backwards, there is a very small chance of getting stuck in the roll animation. The infamous crouch bug enables you to gain quite some speed and is easily confused with speed-hacking, although you cannot fire, reload, throw grenades, or practically execute any harmful action towards enemies. It can, however, give you close to the speed of an M79 blast and allow you to move extremely fast in the opposite direction that you're facing if you rolled backwards and vice versa if you rolled forwards. To other players, a user experiencing the bug seems to be stuck on the stand animation, yet can be seen flying and hovering about. Press the prone (default X) button to get rid of the crouch bug, although some players try to take advantage of the quick speed it gives.
