Finding the general code
« on: January 18, 2007, 05:04:07 pm »
I can't seem to find the scource code of soldat. The only luck I've had is when I found a .ini that shows a list of various options turned on and off.
And now, for something completely different:

Yes, Soldat is closed source. I doubt MM will ever release the source code, if he does, don't expect it for ages.
Personally I think it's better being closed source.

It HAS to be closed source or else it'd be freeware (at least a pirated version of it, anyways). :P There were false rumors some months back that Soldat would be released open-source in the future; I don't know if that's actually officially planned or not

MM has mentioned the possibility of maybe releasing it open source very far in the future.  Before that happens he is more likely to hand it off to other people to have them develop it.  Right now the source for Soldat is not available to anyone.
