Not being able to join my own server
« on: February 09, 2007, 05:26:41 pm »
I started a Dedicated Server on my laptop, and on my desktop I started Soldat Client. I see it on the list of servers and try to join it but it simply says "requesting game" forever without letting me into the game. Other people are able to join and play, by the fact that I see them in the server with scores and coming and going. So what do I need to do?

What IP are you entering? Use 127.0.0.1.

It's almost definately going to be a firewall problem.   If the computer that the server resides on has a software firewall (zonealarm, pccillin, etc) then you will have to open the server port range and allow the computer to act as a server.

I knew someone would say its a firewall, but to be sure, I turned off BOTH firewalls on both computers. There is no firewall up on either, and I cant get it.
