We need to fix it, or it will end up as HtF!!

(well we need to save HtF too, but RM is a must have!)

When playing Rambomatch, just about every single player is forced to choose a one hit kill weapon to be able to face the rambo.

So i thought up some adjustments that could be made for the bow, so people could start to use other weapons, and bring some more varriation...

Fireing: Ive suggested this before, you have to hold the fire button to string an arrow to the bow, and then release it to let the arrow fly. this would ad some realism and balance to it.  ;)

Bink: Adding some Bink to the bow will make it more easy to fight against, I betcha it aint easy to use abow correctly when under fire! the "real" rambo from the movies didnt run around like crazy firing arrows from left to right, he sneaked around and used guerilla tactics, i think the chosen player to be rambo should to the same...  :)

Any ideas, thoughts or suggetsions?  ;D

all this - definitely add a start up time to the bow - to have a sneaky rambo would be so cool.

It needs something else to make him sneaky/hard to see but what...

yeah he shouldn't be so powerful.

haven't seen the movie myself though :P

I don't really see any need for any of this. I guess a start-up time would be okay, if you could keep an arrow notched by holding the fire button down, and then release it when you want.

I like the start up time idea and the "sneaky rambo" idea. Two thumbs up!!
But if they do make it so the Rambo has to be sneaky, new RM maps have to be made. Ones with foilage and trees and long grass to hide in. I'm pretty sure some of our top Soldat map makers would be happy to oblige.  ;D

lmao, Rambo Holds the Flag xD I always wanted combined game modes.

Zegovia's ideas have always been good so far; both of these ideas sound nice, but the first may already be enough to balance it. If these were to be implemented, the beta-testing team ought to make sure Rambo isn't nerfed too much as well.

And hey, nothing's wrong with HTF, the raw game mode itself; it's just that the maps made for it aren't suited for its purpose and abuse its concept terribly.

@Vulbastick: But i rather call it "hold up"  instead of startup, people might missunderstand it.. :P

I dont really think that just the hold up would do the work, a slight bink (not barretish bink!) would be good though...

Otherwise they could make so that there is a  short selfbink after each shot.. ;)

The hold-up thing should function like the Knife. The longer you hold it down for, the farther it flies. But no, I disagree with jrgp; keep it one-hit kill. Zegovia's hold-up would probably balance it well enough, even without self-bink.

...This would put Rambo at a severe DISadvantage.

The problem with this suggestion is that most n00bs would still try to do that; it would only make Rambo more difficult to manage, but I'm still for it—the Rambo Bow is too easy to use IMO.

I refuse to use 1 hit kill guns against rambo,  I always use deagles or the ruger.  But your right in that most people dont,  I like both your ideas.

how do you think about this?

That the rambo will, instead of gaining points from kiling people, he should gain points from staying alive as loong as he can!? it should force the rambo to become more cautious....

hey zegovia - also add these two things:  1) the longer you hold the fire button the futher back he stretches the bow (with a minimum time to get the arrow in place (which could simply be the reload time after one arrow has been fired (as is the case now)) - and 2) rambo doesn't regenerate his health until a certain period after the last bullet has hit (that way he won't regenerate his health while being under attack of machineguns etc. to make it easier to kill with them*
