prepare for new quality in climbing servers
« on: January 19, 2007, 08:49:43 pm »
i was working lately on stats for climb servers,
i'm at point where most of things(all?) work just fine,
but it's still too soon for releasing anything...
probably won't be until release of dedicated server v2.6 for which i'm waitting for long long... long time already,
as i'd like to use neat features from it

i'm open for any suggestions, features request, etc...

here's some sneak view:

my record on ctf_kampf is 19sec(and yours? ;) oh all those stats are just random

as you all can see, i wrote code, but when it comes to displaying it with sense i suck so hard ;)

also i hope hardcoded 42chars in line till small font will be extended in next ver...

peace.

Wow that's looking, :) it's got most of the features covered.
But as it says on the screen "maps completed:" Maybe you could add a !mapsdone so it shows what maps you've completed.

And as there are always hackers on climb servers, Im wondering how easy is it to delete highscores and stats by certain names?
And maybe have a feature that grabs all the completed times for that specific map and averages it out, so admins could check between the really fast times and aid in discovering times by hackers, then they could find there ip and ban them.

hey you have some good thinking out there :)

hmm, !mapsdone commands could be nice, but as there's over 300 climb maps it i would be too long to display in table format, maybe as a list, but then i'd have to count chars in each line to avoid this small unreadable font :( probably some www stats woule be best for it, maybe i'll try to wrote something in php ...in far future

deleting highscores will be as easy as pie ;)

average map climb time isn't problem neither (and hey, it's great stat to add :) but i'm not so sure about detecting hackers that way, still have to think about it

Dude use some "."s its mush easier to read then. You can have a command for each map i think. Like: if you type "!ctf_kampf" then the score on that maps stats comes up.
