High Res?
« on: January 20, 2007, 11:18:31 pm »
sup :D

I was thinking awhile back for people who play soldat in fullscreen, soldat doesn't use its full capacity resolution wise.

I wanted to make a high res Mod that could allow players to play in higher detail, and allow mod makers to make more detailed mods.
But I have no idea how to go about this, any ideas?
It would have to be able to work maybe By tweaking some of the .dll's or configuration data in soldat to set the resolution higher, allowing for bigger images and still good animation, and work with soldat versions that don't have the mod.

I think it might be impossible, but thats why I'm asking

You cannot modify any of the dll's or exe's in soldat in anyway.

You can only either play windowed or fullscreen, which resizes your monitor to 640 x 480. That cannot be changed,
There are other worlds than these

This is not possible with Soldat.  I normally wouldn't lock this kinda thing, but it is very, very similar to discussions in suggestions/improvements saying "Make soldat use a higher resolution!!1one"

The fact is that Soldat uses a low resolution and sets your video card to a different video mode.  It is impossible to have anything rendered at a higher resolution without Soldat using that resolution.
