"this is where i live" thread
« on: January 26, 2007, 03:05:43 pm »
I made this topic because i want to know in what kind of places you guys live. I uploaded a few pics i took few days ago, the pics are taken from Tornio, thats the town im studying at. I also pasted a link to a video, the video is intro from a TV series filmed entirely in my home town Kemijärvi, watch and see how it looks like here above the arctic circle. The series is called "taivaan tulet", referring to "aurora borealis" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aurora_borealis). The video was filmed autumn 2006.

video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=ioIqPWoRbkE

Please post pics/videos of youre home town/city aswell  :)

PS: It was -25 when the pics were taken.

PPS: The red thingy in the bottom pic is finnish traditional snowmobile ;)

I've never been in Tornio, even tho some of my relatives live somewhere there, and I've been about to visit them like 5 times in past 6 months or so.

I will take some pics from Kuopio later today/tomorrow, and update them to this post. (If I find my camera.. :))

That's my area in Burlington Ontario, near Toronto. My school is in there, the corss looking building MM Robinson High school, and my townhouse is way up top in the picture, just follow the road and it's one of those houses right across from that apartment building. I took those pictures for geography class, and yeah fun times.....

not many people get to fly for geography class  :D, i have flown 6 times in a commercial liner...but its like a bus ride....i would like to fly in a small plane or a helicopter (probably will in the army in a few years, in finland every man must go to army for one year tops when they turn 18).

It's actually really fun, we got to go up for 30$ only, because we had alot of people go up. The pilot did alot of climbing and descending, so it was a blast....things were floating.

I live in a relatively small town some kilometers North East of Antwerp, second largest city in Belgium.

(Not going to post pics of my backyard and interior of the house anymore, I'm being stigmatized as a snob enough already  :()
