New anti-cheat for Soldat

I do not believe you. Well, it would be a miracle if there was a new version which I would like more than the earlier one. Only thing I have liked in new versions are bugfixes. >

Now one question: will there be a way to PERMANENTLY ban a cheater from the server?

Another question: how does anyone (or thing, for that matter) prevent the new system from accusing someone who doesn't cheat? I mean, if the player runs WMP or something (third-party program, it somehow may connect with Soldat, I dunno...) and he gets banned, what then? PB (PunkBuster, well-known third-party anti-cheat program, like BE) has (had?) this sort of problem... I know people banned from certain games just for running their favorite music player.


Anyways, good to hear this news, MM. It's just not cool, the amounts of cheating players nowadays.

As far as I know, BE will scan Soldat.exe and DLL's, and if there are something modified in them, then there is a hacker around. Also, it will scan your RAM, and try to find known hacks.

There was this "plugin" called HLAmp which interfaced with Winamp to show the music you were playing inside games like Counter Strike and other HL mods. I don't remember if it was VAC or Cheating Death, but one of the protections indentified HLAmp as a hack and lots of people had their account banned. It can happen, but since WMP and other programs don't interface with Soldat (afaik) I don't think we should worry about this.

That was the great flaw in VAC, then now people are starting to use excuses like "VAC thought XFire was a hack and banned my account". Kinda annoying. But of course, VAC doesn't produce false positives for now.

and no I am not a hacker altough I got 3 permanent bans for "aimbot" at that time aimbot didnt even excisted.

Not to get off topic, but even though you say you don't hack, you let people hack in your servers therefore condoning it.  Supporting hackers isn't good either and it means you are on the same level as them.  By supporting hacks, you are shitting all over Michal's work.

How come I never got banned from anywhere because of admin suspecting that I hack? I don't believe that the reason is that I am not good enough.

is it possible to get the MAC-address of a pc through the internet?
Its like an IP-address, cept that its set by the manufacturer,and it cant be changed becuase it has to be unique.
