Apparently it's somewhat of a trend now days to call bands sellouts and say you only liked their old music.  This is what people have done with bands such as Slipknot, Green Day, etc.  I never liked Green Day or Slipknot (any of their music), but people can still like bands despite their getting "famous".  Quite frankly I think the whole concept of bashing bands and calling them "sellouts" is just plain ignorant.  You like whatever you like.

The funny thing about bands like Slipknot and Green Day is that they're inherently commercial anyway, so calling them "sellouts" is kind of really redundant. Some bands do, however, change their sound in order to become more accessible to the general public - for example, Metallica, who changed lyrical content, simplified their leads and eventually added country rock influences.
