DM Beans
« on: February 06, 2007, 12:30:37 pm »
Long time no see, I'm back and have made a simple map on a whim. I took the editor after an interval of 1.5 years and I didn't forget how to use :) I don't know I make more maps after this, anyways it's okay. It's waypointed. Could be good for 3-5 players. Have fun for a few minutes with the beans.

Welcome back! :D
I must say I was a bit disapointed by your latest maps last year, which had weird colors and plain design (LO, HL, LB, ctf_March and ctf_Sunset and Sandland)... but this one seems to be better!
The overall design is ok, however it still looks plain somehow. Perhaps the shading you're now using doesn't really fit your usual style? I guess this is a choice of yours anyway so I won't criticize much.

A fine map which works for me, not your best map though.
Keep it up! :)

Holy shit, welcome back chakapoko maker!

Map is quality as usual. Looking forward to more releases.

If you're still using the classic mapmaker you should check out Polyworks.

Chakapoko maker!! Luvvvvvvvv <3 Where have you been all this time? :D

The map seems kind of bland compared to your usual work, but that long absence most likely rusted you a bit. I too heavily look forward to more releases :)

Hot Damn! That's been a long time chaka!

Have to agree with Keron that the map looks abit bland, but it's still a nice simple map overall. I hope you'll be making some more maps. :)

This map is superb, man. I like all of your maps and this is no exception.
Great poly layout, scenery usage and texture.
Thanks for coming back and I hope to see more new maps by you :)

Welcome back, sir. Fantastic polygons as usual, but this time I'm not so ecstatic about the background colors, although that's hardly a matter. Please do stay.

Anywho, good work. It's damn sexxy to see you mapping again, and to just be on soldatforums.

It looks plain, I think so a bit. But playability is the average as return one. I can't make fine scenery and haven't useed PW well, and my map goes like this with mm+. In this map, I could split poly well and finish easily. I will try a map that could be one of LH maps.

>Boxo
Polyworks seems to be updated much. Multi-texturing looks hard to me little, though I have used PW for good compile. Anybody goes PW now?

>Keron Cyst
I sorry to late your mail, If you want to mod the undone mappack of mine, please do it. I don't know they are nice.

>Vltava
The backbround color is kinda vivid for soldat. I just want to.

Polyworks has been the only mapmaker for a while, nobody uses MM+ anymore. Superior in every way.

Multitexturing is indeed pretty sketchy, but you don't have to use it.

i hate this general "Whichever map a 'master' touches must be great"-attitude in this forum. i myself and some others (grand_diablo, demonic, vtt and even more) are affected by this. it's just wrong in most cases. the best example was ctf_maya3 ;P

in fact, this map doesnt even get near your earlier niveau, some of the earlier maps contained perfect combination of pretty and still highly defaultish visual elements, plus the gameplay was usually nice.
this in contrast has a way too funky (i dont care if it's intended) background. the shading is quite poor plus that roof is just... weird. i also think, that that vertical bean doesnt contribute nicely to the gameplay...

nvm, just an oppinion, of course you are still the mighty morphing godapoko maker :-/

[off topic]: MM+ rocks! Nah just kidding... <3 PW ;D

>Avarax
I have to agree with you and I understand your point. Thanks for posting your opinion! This reminded me of Soap somehow...
Even though I said this map is "not his best", you can't deny the fact that CP still has the ability to amaze us sometimes.

Thanks for your frank opinion, but I still think it's not so bad in my current feeling. I'm uncomfortable to be praised to the skies or something, and I guess other vets do. That's ok. It's good to release a map anyways.

>GluLm
I thought this map is slightly similar one of bbVB's inf by its appearance, after it had been finished.

I regard this cloud as simple at this moment, yes, I also think I had to put them more better. And the pic you uploaded looks good.
