Close Combat
« on: February 09, 2007, 01:51:24 pm »
I was having a match last nigh. I believe it was 6 on 6 CTF. We sucked soooooo badly in the wide regions because of the opposite who used 90% LAWS and Barrets. When it came down to shrinky maps, we pwned them so badly. They were good antecedant to the small maps, but now we killed them 6-0 almost. Our team used all the machine guns and M79.

How do you fight? Close or far?

I'm inaccurate so I suck at far shooting. That's why I like using machine guns, sometimes Spas-12 or Ruger (but I think it's not so close combat weapon).

My accurarcy is very good, so I like using Barret if the map allows it.

Oh and if you can't pwn a team with 90% Barret and LAW even on a huge map, then you really should make yourself some thoughts.

Close, although I don't mind medium-ranged combat with the SOCOM and the Minimi, the Spas 12 is - believe it or not - supposed to be used for close range combat in Soldat. It's also much more hectic close up.

- EDIT: Gaaah, hell. I knew I shouldn't write that half asleep. Typo fixed, sorry everyone. I feel like an absolute idiot...

The Spas is not for long range use, there you can tell me what you want thats a lie. With 20m maximum that's no long range.

i use AUG & knife or AUG & Law. Law is for distance and knife is for close & flanking
i think spas-12 is meant for long (you know spraying) and close its perfect on ctf_kampf (if you red) then you just shoot into the air spraying down on the enemy.

Sorry about the typo. [AUG]
Fixed
(il just call it AUG that i can spell)

Maybe if you would change that y into i, and you would remove that t, and add an a before that l, it would become serial.

I think he means "Steyr", this thingie: [AUG]
And I doubt that Spas-12  [Spas] is meant to be far combat. It's useless to spray with it, machine guns are much better for spraying. Check Soldat Manual:

I weapon-cycle alot, so generally speaking I'm good in both close and long-range combat, but I prefer close-quarters. My best close-range weapon is actually the SOCOM, followed by Spas and HK MP5. Best long-range is a toss-up between Ruger and Steyr AUG. I'm alright with barret, but because I weapon-cycle alot more now, I've not used it as often as I once did, so alot of my accuracy with it has gone down.

I've gotten a lot better at long range combat. Usually when I see an opportunity for a ranged kill I take it. Most of my kills range from 40-60m with my Ruger of course. I've actually become more prone to ranged kills than close, but I take the chance when I need to.

Anything between 300 and 0m is a target for me.
Mostly because at 300m I have time to reload my trusty barret and at 0 I can knife them to death. And as a last resort I can always smack them.

Barrett and spas-12 as a secondary works great. If you miss with the barrett, rush forward and slam them with 2-3 point blank shots.
I attend grammar school, last grade, and ignorance is all around me. Well, good for them. Ignorance is bliss.

I normally use my trusty Minimi for all distances, but sometimes I like to go in with a chainsaw and declare with great zeal- "Blood! Blood for the Blood God!!" when I get a kill with the chainsword, as Dawn of War has drawn me into using the full Warhammer mod, and that taunt.  :D
