Banning a good friend
« on: February 09, 2007, 04:22:55 pm »
Hey guys, I keep opening up my own internet game, in order to play with a good friend of mine. We have a blast killing bots, but lately he is being kicked by the game (NOT ME) and it says at the top of the window "Player Metra has been kicked and permanently banned" I can delete his IP Address from the banned doc, but he keeps get banned every 10 minutes (Approx). We want to play with each other still, but having to unban him or delete his IP address is getting really old. He doesnt cheat or hack, and never has either, and I dont do either of those things either so I dont know why the game would be kicking him for no apparent reason.

If anyone has any idea on how to fix this problem please let me know.

I am really new to this stuff but noticed nobody has replied to you yet so I'll take a stab at it.

You know your soldat.ini file?  Pop it open and compare your values to what I'm going to give here (this is only part of the soldat.ini file, but from all I've learned so far your problem is somewhere in here):

ShowRealLag=1
Min_Ping=0
Max_Ping=600
Filter_Players=0
Filter_Gametype=0
Filter_Dedicated=0
Filter_NoPassword=0
Filter_NoBots=0
Filter_Survival=0
Filter_Realistic=0
Filter_NoBonuses=0
Filter_Weapons=0
Filter_WeaponsMod=0
Balance_Teams=1
Dont_Forward=0
Vote_Percent=60
Compression=1
Spectator=0
Max_Spectators=3
Spectator_Chat=1
Allow_Download=1
MaxConnections=8
TooMuch_Packets_LAN=62
TooMuch_Packets_Internet=33
Flooding_Packets_LAN=80
Flooding_Packets_Internet=37
Vote_Cheat_Warnings=8
Max_KnifeCheat_Warnings=14
Disable_AntiCheat_Kick=0
LogFilesUpdate=3600
Max_Flood_Warnings=4
Max_Ping_Warnings=10
T1_Snapshot=35
T1_MajorSnapshot=19
T1_DeadSnapshot=50
T1_Heartbeat=135
T1_Delta=4
T1_Ping=21
T1_ThingSnapshot=31
PacketRate_Adjusting=0
ClientPort=23083

If your values differ from those given above (they are defaults given to me by EnescE) then try these values and see if that fixes it.  Worked for me, with the same problem... but I guess your problem could conceivably be something else, in which case I can't help.  GL.
