"Advance the flag" mode (2 way inf?)

This'd be fun for some of the Trenchwar style maps...
You have your map, but it's split into two halfs-halfway between blue and red ends.  When the game starts, a grey(color doesn't really matter) flag is placed in the middle, and the teams have to race to get that flag.  From then on the objective is to advance the flag.  The blue team would try and grab the grey flag and run it into the red team's flag to score, and the red team would try and get the grey and run it into the blue team's flag to score.

At the end of the game the team with the higher number of caps wins of course.  If nobody scores, the winning team should be the team that is holding the flag in enemy territory (opposite side of the map).  So if the red team held the flag on the blues half of the map in their territory, the red team would win.  However if the red held the flag on their side of the map, blue would win.  And vice versa for the blue team.

Another nice option for this game mode to have would be a non-static frontline option.  If you're fighting over a big map too often both teams rush to the middle, and a load of people die, and guys have to run to the middle again.  The players should spawn (either by parachute or preset spawnpoints) close to the grey flag to keep some action going on.

Interesting idea. You could just subsitute the yellow flag spawn for the grey flag spawn area, but moving frontlines would be difficult I think unless you just had the grey flag act as a spawn point, or perhaps people only spawning at the spawn point closest to the grey flag and any spawn within so much distance of the closest one.

Sounds good. I think a yellow rather than grey flag would be more soldat-like. ;)
I think a moving front line would be too hard though. Just regular spawning in the base is fine by me.

Good idea, just add spawn points are automatic changed where most ppl are.

Ahh, a nice mix between CTF and INF - whereby there are two teams who would fight each other for a grey flag to be captured and brought back to the team flag (which cannot be captured) to score.

Well, it seems like a good idea. Although HTF is rather similar, HTF doesn't involve capping that yellow flag.

Unfortunately, I don't think new game modes are going to be added anytime soon.

F12, trenchwars is popular enough to make a similar OFFICIAL game mode out of this.
And I don't think it'd be too hard to do.

I personally like trenchwars-type of maps, but I hate realistic mode. This new game mode will appeal to non-realistic players like me.
