getting a new car
« on: February 12, 2007, 09:58:23 pm »
well, i sold my honda some months ago, and currently planning on getting a cute, yet much cheaper car (ranging from 92' to 95'), then tune the living hell of it.

i've filtered my options to a final three:

1. 1994 Seat Ibiza (3500$)
1600cc engine

2. 1995 Chevrolet Cavalier (3800$)
2200cc engine

3. 1992 Mazda 323F (3500$)
1600cc engine
also got a 1200w sound-booster-thingy (not sure what's it called in english), 500w sub, 330w back speakers and 2 stockfront speakers, DVD + ceiling screen.

(that faggot there is not myself)

so just wanted you know, what would you guys go for?

ps - please no BUGATTI VEYRON LOLZ posts.

I'd go for the car that has the best gas mileage and is the most reliable in terms of performance and long term durability.  Sure, the third one has a lot of bright shiny stuff in it...but is it a good car?  I mean, you're buying a car for transportation aren't you?

I really have no clue as to which of those three are better in terms of mileage, performance, reliability, etc...but it seems pretty obvious to me that you should go with the most dependable one of the three, whichever one that may be.

that's why i filtered my choices geo, reliability.
those final 3 of my choices are pretty much the same in reliability issues (altho the cavalier has a poor gas-per-mileage ratio).

Hmm, what a coincidence. I'm looking for a new car too. I would go with the chevy if I were you. It seems to have the best engine to start out with. I'm looking for an Acura RSX. It's hard to find a good deal on them :(

as geo said, go with the most reliable and has the best gas millage. If the cavalier has low gas millage, take it off the list.

DVD + ceiling screen.

what? do you plan on watching scarface or something on the ceiling while driving your car? whats the point? I guess you could sit back and stare at the screen whilst parked, but then people looking at you stare at your car's ceiling will get all freaked out at your motionless, ceiling gaping self.

Number 1 looks the best in my opinion, even though it is a hatchback.

That's just it guys..it's not about looks.  A great looking car that falls apart in half a year isn't worth squat.

Mazda 323F = zomfgipwnuirace.... you won't find a single decent one anymore... they're used by guys who like screaming tires a little too much. I don't know anything about the chevy, but the Ibiza is a good car, I'll tell you that. Also... check out Toyota Starlets... they're more reliable than any other car I know. It's not fast, it's not cool, but where others leave you out in the cold, the starlet will take you home.

actually, i'm pretty much looking for an opinion on which one looks the best.
that's not because the looks of a car is the most important thing to me, it's because i got everything else pretty much covered already.

reliability issues between those 3 are almost the same, except gas-per-mileage which the chevi is poor at (but hey, i got money for fuel).

Rhombus, the Starlet isn't exactly what i'm looking for, but thanks for the Ibiza tip.

You have money for fuel, but not for a non-**** car?

Well I would go for the seat because it's one of the best cars ever made. All those models after this are kinda plastic. SEAT FTW!11oneileven!

i'm recieving a good payment monthly from the army. more than plenty to cover for fuel, less than enough for a non-shit car.
