valentine's day is ok... Can't say I hate it, though I don't have a girlfriend and I haven't had one for about a year. Valentine's day is really nice if you have a girlfriend, but the couple of days before it just suck. "Will my present be good enough?" "Will I overdo it?" "will she get me anything at all? If she doesn't, she may feel bad because I WILL get her something?". All in all... nice day... nothing special if you're alone :p

Mine was uneventful but filling.

I sent a death threat to my ex-Wife via some ripped up pages of this book I have. And I cooked dinner for my love interest, with a happy ending.

Before that I was sitting around, yawning and trying to find something to watch on the idiot box. The fun stuff started after 5PM.

So what have we learned today, kids? Valentine's Day is for sex?

It's not that I feel that V-Day mocks my social life, but I can't stand the "I love you, but only on the 14th of February of every year" attitude that comes along with it. I've gone through Valentine's Day with a girlfriend before, but both of us just sat back and laughed because we thought it was idiotic. It's true that I'm a loner, and I'm proud of it. But that's not why I hate Valentine's Day.

Anyway, this year's Valentine's Day was the best one yet because my mom allowed me to stay home from school because of all the snow, so I didn't go. While everyone else participated, I and two friends who had also stayed home from school were on Skype throughout the day doing geeky stuff like playing Fire Emblem for the GBA. >_>

That's what I think of Valentine's Day. Those of you who like it and have a good time during it, good for you. However, just because you have fun during V-Day doesn't mean everyone else does as well.

Edit: This is why my fellow students think that I'm eventually going to bring a gun to school. It doesn't help that I tell them I won't simply because it's not creative enough. XD

I'm all with the 'yeah Valentine's day is just to make shops more money' thing even though I made an occasion out of it too. That's because even though, as Kazuki put, it people say I love you just because it's the 14th of Febuary, I still think it provides a medium for people to show appreciation if they may have found it hard before.

This Valentine's Day was probably the best so far for me.

Once I got some hardened melted chocolate out of the fridge, cut it into an oblong shape, carved her name onto it, wrapped it up like a chocolate bar, put string and a bow on it and then gave it to her. It wasn't Valentine's Day, I was just really really bored and wondered what someones reaction would be to something like that.

The very word Holiday comes from Holy Day, The catholic church made Saint Valentines day. Unreligious people made Valentines day about sex, and Saint Patricks day about drinking, have you seen anyone pray to Saint Valentine?
