this is a broad question. Zam answered it good, but also check the mecha mod over in full modifications.

You get bored of any mod after a while, but I would reccommend Heretic, Mecha Soldat, and Resident Evil.  Theye are the best mods in my opinion and can all be found in the full modifications section.

It depends on what you like but if you want an awesome mod. get Field Marshall's Spec. Operations mod. I'd swear by it. The best mod. ever made, in my opinion.

i think you should try new gametypes. try knife only, or INF, or find a DB server thats good

Ye Field Marshalls Spec ops mod is the best IMO since I don't like fantasy/futuristic stuff that much

That's the bad thing about ivan's mods, they're a blast if you have several freinds using the mod but aren't any good on regular online matches.  Pierce's Resident Evil mod however, is the funnest single player mod I've played.

Try heretic soldat mod or field marshal's spec ops 2.0 those are nice. But if you want a REALY AWESOME MOD CHECK:

HARDWAR TACTICS.

This one is a masterpiece in modding

No. There is no mod that will make you keep playing Soldat. It's entirely up to you. IMHO, it's the servers which keep you coming back for more.

And now for me to explain each of the mods:
Heretic Mod: This has a lot of weapons, which each can be customized even further. Fantasy-based, but it's pretty fun.
Mecha Mod: Some sounds are kinda annoying, but the large amount of weapons and gosteks kicks serious ass.
|2esident Evil: This mod is pretty fun, the interface graphics are unique (in a good way) but some of the sounds are lacking.
Special Operations: This is a good mod. Lots of weapon choices, all in Field Marshall's distinct style that makes it obvious when people have stolen from him.
Field Marshall's other mods: Nobody ever mentions the Metal Slug Mod for some reason. And WW2:TCS is pretty good too.
Hardwar: Tactics: This mod is a big pain to get set up and running without overwriting your default files, but that's how I roll. Ain't nobody touches my Soldat files without my say-so. Also, the config program for it kicks ass.

Just to recommend a fun mod, check out CSoldat, it's got ALL the Counter-Strike weapons with nice colors.
