Accuracy does mean. And so does speed aswell. AK will lose (1 - (240 / 260)) * 100 =) 7.6% more damage due to the resistance of air than AUG. So, if both weapons lose 20 points of speed over some undefined distance, for AK it means that it loses 7.6% more firepower than AUG, this means that it is better for AK to stay as close to AUG as possible.

Then again, if you stay close, you need to aim with    (1 - (97.6 / 107.5)) * 100 =) +9.2% better accuracy than AUG in order to beat it. (This is from zero range where the air resistance does not count.)

I believe that the AK47 is a balanced weapon. It is key to aim well with it, but it least its not like the HK MP5, in which all the bullets go all over the place and it is only deadly at close range. It has less power, like the Minimi, because it is meant to hit a target 8-12 times for a kill, and have enough ammo to 2 more soldiers.

And by the new balance, the fireinterwall will be decreased, beaning that the weapon's clip will empty ((1 - (5.4 / 6)) * 100) = ~10% faster than it does in curren't 1.3.1 balance. From (60/5.4) = 7.4 seconds to (40/6) = 6.6 seconds. It still is alot, but it is alot less than it used to be.

They do, at least they should. Especially bullets with same type SHOULD lose their speed at the same rate, as the bullets are identical with eachother, no matter which weapon is used.

AK is *very* accurate, and styer is not so accurate ...

I really never saw anything wrong, flawed or cheap with the AK47 before this was brought up... and I still dont think its flawed at all.

Ak is my favorite weapon and I can vouch, the balance is perfect. I can wipe any steyr user on any given day. But thats cause im pro. I say keep it the same. But I'm saying, if the next version makes Ak less powerful, ILL BE PISSED! I'm pissed as it is that leo and the soldatforum server put it at 93% damage. That shit is ridiculous. Without bogus weapon mods though, Ak is balanced. Steyr spits out more damage a second, but it goes all over the place. Meanwhile im creeping up and BOOM! SUCKIT STEYR! just keep Ak the same.

In the exp. balance they use, AK actually does 0.25% more damage per seconds. With the cost of 10% less time it takes to empty the clip.

faster kills per clip but fewer kills per clip is better.  i think its a step in the right direction.  Most of the weapons have a pause between each kill, or every two kills.  I simply think it is funner to use a gun whose balance doesn't rely on being able to kill many ppl each reload, i prefer to kill faster.

and as an mp5er, itd be nice to catch an AK reloading a little bit more.

Well, the only thing which really matters is how much you can deal damage per second to the enemy. The one who deals more, will win. Thus, weapon with low damage and big clip (AK for example) is worse than a weapon with high damage and small clip. (Ruger for example, or Barrett/M79, as they kill in a split of a second if hit.)

Especially in clan games, I hardly run out of ammo, when I do, I am either very wounded or dead by the time I start reloading. Usually I die before I can empty the whole clip during the clanwar. As clanwars are usually in 3v3, usually there are not enough targets to empty the clip to.

While damage per second helps AK is so much more accurate than steyr if on a map like bunker you will own any steyr there is. The reason the WM is so hard to get right is because there are so many things to make a gun good. Accuracy, dps, reload, clip size, it all matters.

And from the distance, AK wins AUG because of the fact that it lands more bullets on AUG user. Deals more damage per second.

Sure it is hard to get everyting in balance, because there is so much variables.

in 1.2.1, back when the AK was usable, i used to use the curve of the ak bullet to hit the "soldier" that was prone in a bush, waiting for me to come out.

every single stat of a gun matters The ak needs more damage if it is going to compete with the one hits and the autos.

If soldat has the "realistic" physics that it claims to have, then bullets slow down exponentially, so if you fired strait up then you would have -9.8 m/s/s acting on it as well as ___m/s initial V of the shot, now I don't feel like breaking out the calculator and doing vectors, but if a bullet has a low initial V then the game's gravity would have a larger effect (or a larger % of speed would be lost each time period, if that makes any more sense) on the bullet's speed, so a slow bullet, like the Desert eagle, the exponential decay of speed would mean that the bullet loses effective speed faster then say, a barrett shot. Since the ak has a low speed, it needs raw damage to compensate for the speed loss.
