Port connection problem
« on: March 04, 2007, 02:14:19 pm »
I'm trying to host a game for me and my friends. I've forwarded the ports 27074, and 27078. But no-one cna join, and the connection test fails.

I'm running the latest version under windows.

Are those the ports you're actually using?  The defaults are 23073 and 23083 that you need to forward

well i'm one of thepeople he's trying to play with (no not that way;) ) and whenever i make a server non-dedicated or not it doesn't seem to let people connect, it just says "requesting..." and doesn't join. sometimes you can find the server on the list, but it's ping is always "????" and so you can't connect. although we are unning the free version,so i don't know if that will affect it in any way?

I just did some checking. I deleted my laptop settings, and changed my port to 23073. Then I forwarded the tcp and udp of it, and the tcp 23083.

What ip would I use for the test? Whatismyip, or my internal one? The one I'm forwarding the ports to? I.e  cmd, ipconfig.exe?
