Soldat Resizer by Troop v1.0.2
« on: June 26, 2006, 09:20:12 am »
Soldat Resizer

What does it do?
She resizes your non-fullscreen Soldat to fit your screen! Just swicth Full Screen -option off from Soldat's Config

Why?
To avoid very annoying flickering when you minimize Soldat or alt+tab

Some Instructions:
Run the program, set your settings (most likely press "Get current Resolution" :p), and press OK. Then application will minimize to tray next to your clock. To restore it from the tray, double click it, if you didn't select autoresize, then click tray icon with left mouse button to resize, when you run Soldat. You can also double click on application to minimize it to tray.

That's all for now on.

Feel free to post about suggestion or bugs(which it might have a lot -beware)

Here's a little screen:

If you wanna replace that really crappy icon, feel free to post it here, or pm me.

Now open your soldat resizer and play any demo instead of joining servers. Yes, it's true..

Hmm.. seems nice!

If it's not set to Auto resize Soldat, then it won't work.

I hope it doesn't considered as a hack.

because I guess it does stuff with soldat, I wouldn't consider it a hack.

btw I think your signature breaks the rules, (too many userbars, max is 3)

Nice idea. I use 1600x1200 resolution myself, so this means that Soldat has 6.25 more rasterizing work to do when rendering, but my FPS was still 250-300, and 100 with 30 bots in Arena2, so I'll be using this.
However there is one VERY ANNOYING BUG which is why I don't keep this program open all the time in tray. The balloon tip with "Soldat resized to 1200x960" basically pops in EVERY 5 SECONDS even if Soldat is not running. It drives me crazy. Other than that, nice work.

EDIT. Btw if this isn't happening to you, it might be because I have one other application that extensively uses balloon tips. My guess is that the other program is trying to show a balloon tip at the same time yours is showing its, and somehow it's coded so that the balloon isn't "unregistered" by your application. If you could fix it, that'd be great though.

Set your resolution to 1280x960 (or any multiple of 640x480) to remove slight texture misstretching at the top of the screen. This is cool, cause now I can play full at 200 fps with 20 bots, so long as they don't all have miniguns.

I used some other similar program before I formated my computer and it works like the same thing except it used cmd I think.

Anyway, great job on this and I am gonna use this everytime I play Soldat cause my full screen don't work. :)

EDIT: I am getting an error when it tries to resize my soldat:

Run-time error '13':
Type mismatch

I got the same error when I first tried it... I put some random numbers in the 'New Screen Position From Left' and 'New Screen Position From Top' (10 and 10 to be precise), and it worked... although it ran at about 5 frames a second.... :\
