Anyone seen 300 yet?  If not, I strongly suggest you watch it.  All of the combat is stylized, so it's not too gory.  And there is a LOT of combat.  The movie is full of action; even when people are making speeches to the council, someone dies.  Great movie.

I saw it last night. Not much of a story.....but hell, that is some intense shit. Ending was epic. But there were to many chests on screen, kind of made the movie homo.

I heard that so far it has made the most money for any movie debut in March.

I plan to watch it sooner or later.

Story wasn't very impressive or true to life but the movie was still amazing. I am going to see it at IMAX this weekend.

That's why they had the sex scene: so that you knew at least Leonidas wasn't gay.

Didn't the Spartans and Greeks all have lots of anal sex though?

Of course they did, that's why they invented the olympics, to promote it.

Hmm.  I guess in a male-centered society, you'd have to make the best of what you've got.  Maybe that's why they only wear speedos when they're only around each other, and full clothes when they're around women. O_O

It was amazing, and the story existed enough for the movie to not be your average mindless action.

Was anyone else really impressed by the music? I thought it was fucking incredible when the gigantic elephants appeared on screen and that music started playing.

A must see for sure, I can't wait to see 300 again.

I've seen it twice already, and am going to see it again this Friday. It was simply an amazing movie, mostly because of the battle scenes. To this point, I have not seen battle scenes so dramatic and filled with so much ownage.

Definitely some epic stuff, and I'm really not even a fan of gory battle movies and stuff. It was mostly pretty tasteful, and the effects during the battle scenes were amazing.

The whole mood was spot-on, too.

Maybe the plot was not as good as Sin City, but then again, I didn't go for a story.  What I did go for were amazing battle scenes, and 300 delivered.  This movie was very unique because of the highly stylized appearance and over the top slow motion.  Instead of a movie like Kill Bill where the kung foo action is quick and violent, the gore in 300 allowed you to see exactly what was going on and actually see that leg that got shredded by the spartan sword be torn from the Persians body.  Also like Zero said, the mood was great.  The whole super warrior thing was very effective and done perfectly.

Overall it was one of my favorite movies for the sheer entertainment and overall feel.  Personally I think the plot was the perfect thickness so as not to interfere with the action.

I'm with ya Zegovia  :( . I enjoyed Sin City and seeing as how 300 was modeled after another graphic novel written by Frank Miller, I could have told you I wanted to see it while knowing only that. The commercials and appraisals have only served to heighten my eagerness to see it.

One of the best movies iv'e ever seen in terms of action, the violence was very stylized so it gratutious without being too gory or overbearing.

A glance over the forum last night for anything worth reading reminded me 300 was out. So I quickly pulled up times for the movies and made 10:00 pm showing. Since I had time to sleep on it, one thing has plagued my mind.

I thought it was a real piece of art. Would not watch it again because the beginning was rather redundant and slow moving.

But my question is this: Why spend so much time with all the detail on all the fighting if your not going to shoot in high def? It would of been a big fat piece of eye candy if those little fuzzys where not distracting me.
