ive used the barret since 1.2 and i think im the best sniper in RS. if you haven't already noticed, crouching and proning extend your scope. since there is a delay on the gun, you should try to aim your shots infront of the enemy on where they are going. hide in certain cover spots and get cover from your teamates. use a socom for your secondary weapon. i always have the aim extended out and i am behind the enemy instead of infront. i can't really teach the ret, you have to just get used to it and practice practice practice. hope this helps.

I'm moving this to general discussions since it doesn't really have to do with balance discussion

Use Barrett for 2 weeks straight- no secondaries or nades either, then you will learn how to use it.

Instead of being one of the millions of barrett users out there, why not practice with more than one weapon?  The barrett won't always be the best choice for every map..

I doubt that's what he was implying he wished to accomplish, although it may just run out that way. :-\

Yeah try the Barret on "arena2".
Well always go into phone mode ("phone" is a little joke of mine) while falling and shooting that makes you blink shrink and you wont be hit so mush. then don't use the Barret at all on small maps or in big spray able areas. And Hold left mouse button to fire. If your playing realistic don't rush into battle whit a sniper and Hold the mouse button a small amount of time to lower the start up (Every one might not have thought of that).

you can use:
 -Barret (when you want snipe)
-Aka (for the no sniper maps)

Don't ever be afraid to hide in the bushes, or camp where you know the enemy will come. If you miss a shot, get your ass moving and out of the way, staying still waiting for the reload is asking for a bullet in the face. Get above your opponent when you miss a shot, and witch to your socom, remember headshots do more damage. Be comfortable with backflipping out of the way of nades and sprayed bullets, and become a pro a mid-air proning shots. Learn to reduce your bink as much as possible before shots, shooting wile binked is a big waste. The best way to deal with an enemy sniper is to use the socom instead of your barret.

Learn what maps have better sniping terrain, picking barret on a map like rat caves won't do so much good for your KD ratio.

Remember to drop your secondary and pick up the enemy's weapon if you kill someone.

As the geologist says, you shouldn't be training with just a barrett. Barrett's awesome on camping maps, sniping maps, but not on spray-fest maps. If you like, stay back from the range of the spray-fest, and help your teammates out by picking the pros off.

I say, train with:
AK-47
Knife
LAW
Deagles
and maybe Chainsaw.

And those are the same who start crying when somebody caps on R/S. Just grab the weapons and give a damn on what they say.
