I'm not sure if many of you are aware of British humor seeing as the English are a minority on here, which leads me to believe that you probably haven't heard of the British comedian Catherine Tate [
You Tube,
Wikipedia]. Starring in her own Catherine Tate Show on TV, one of her trade mark expressions is "Am I bovvered?", a reply she uses whenever confronted or questioned by others. Apart from that, she just chats absolute bollocks.
It is currently
Comic Relief in Britain (aka The Big Red Nose Day). This show, or event rather, raises money through comedy with the participation of almost every possible British celebrity. It does this by means of donations and money made through events and projects involving both celebrities and the public. Shown all on TV its funny skits are mixed with serious messages and documentaries regarding the social problems we face today. Although quite horrific at some points the show was hilarious.
One of the skits featured our Prime Minister, Tony Blair and Catherine Tate. Although the recent controversial events - such as the war in Iraq - in our world have marred any hope of him being seen in a positive light anymore I always held some respect for him. However, after seeing this, my respect for him as a person skyrocketed. For me, he will go down as a legend for this and thus I couldn't resist sharing it with you.
Enjoy.
