I thought it was an interesting series...fun, but nothing too great.  Think the same people did Cowboy Bebop, and they were trying for something similar..still, worth the watch.  Go for the subs, not the dubs.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams it is
still a beautiful world.  Strive to be happy.

Breakdancing Asians FTW.
I mean, that's all I see in it. An anime of this anachronistic breakdancer killing people. If I wanted to see a person killing other people while breakdancing, there's this awesome flash animation. Okay, so the breakdancing only occurs for about 10 seconds 1 minute into it. It's still an awesome flash animation.

Yeah, Samurai Champloo is really intresting anime, very nice high-quality images, original plot - i learned many unusuall aspects of japanise culture. Scuffles totaly captivate...
The only thing that i don't like about it is that strange inclination to *rap* (basically *Champloo* means Mix). The begining theme sounds awfull. People who performed it should be killed  :-X ...

btw nice to see so some anime fans here  ;D

You will burn.

Actually, I think I know why it sonds so bad, is cuz you don't know the lyrics:

Sharp like an edge of a samurai sword
The mental blade cut through flesh and bone
Though my mind's at peace, the world out of order
Missing the inner heat, life gets colder
Oh yea, I have to find my path
No less walk on earth water and fire
The elements compose a magnum opus
My modus operandi is amalgam steel packed tight in micro
Chip on my armor a sign of all-pro
The ultimate reward is honor, not awards
At odds in times of wars with no lords, a freelancer
A battle cry of a hawk makes a dove fly and a tear dry
Wonder why a lone wolf don't run with a klan
Only trust your instincts and be one with the plan

Some days, some nights
Some live, some die
In the name of the samurai
Some fight, some bleed
Sun up to sun down
The sons of a battle cry

Some days, some nights
Some live, some die
In the name of the samurai
Some fight, some bleed
Sun up to sun down
The sons of a battle cry

A battle cry.....

The animation production is great, but that's just it. I hate the storyline, the characters, and the music choice they used for it. I don't like it, but then again I'm very picky with anime.
