Fraps
« on: August 09, 2006, 03:31:51 am »
Hey!
When I'm trying to make a Soldat-movie with Fraps it laggs like h*ll, can I do something to make my movie more...um... normal? (without to change computer, lol :P ). Maybe anything to change in Fraps? (without to make quality too more poor)

Thanks!

Well, there isnt much you can really do except get a better computer, broadband etc. or maybe clean your computer?

Search for CCleaner in google (computer cleaner)

Whatever you set your fraps FPS to record, effects how fast your game plays. So if you make it 55, you should get decent game play. You'll have to make the movie slower in vegas or something, though. I recommend demoing then recording the demos.
Oh and make sure you make any demos you make in fraps smaller straight after you take them. And i think you cant record over 15 mins, the file gets to big and removes itself.

(to make them smaller either use windows movie maker and export it as the best qual possible then remove the original avi, or turn the avi into XviD.)

The FPS that fraps records at.
Demoing - Soldat records a low-size file demo that you can watch at any later date. Press F8 to activate this. The only disadvantage is that sometimes you can see people lagging in demos, and you cant see your cursor.

NOTE: Read the stickeys here, and NEVER set your fraps above 25 unless youre streaming (because of the huge file size)
