portable Medicpack

Okay so I must say that this idea came to me while playing BF2. Dont rape me.

What if there would be a medicpack to choose instead of secondaries?
This way u could run and heal your team mates.
This could be done by like the medic-pack needs to be thrown, and to hit your team-mate in order for him to recover. And to prevent ultimate-health camping, lets set the packs "reload" time long enough?

This would make me joygasm.

Too long have I seen my health bar down to ONE PERCENT! and NO HEALTH NEAR BY! on a FRIGGEN NON-REALISTIC GAME!
I am tired of going through dangerous places in near death condition JUST TO PICK UP A HEATH KIT!
If anything, you should at least be able to PICK THEM UP IF YOU DON'T NEED THEM! So you can use them when you DO NEED THEM!
Who here has been low on health, right beside a kit, only to be killed and have it STOLEN OUT FROM UNDER THEM!

This has been suggested a lot, and this is the first time that I haven't seen everyone see it as, NO EXTRA WEAPONS! So this is odd. I don't think it should be added, for realism sake. You cant just build a new medipack.  Or maybe you should only be able to carry one, and if you choose this as a secondary, you can pick up a medipack from the ground to carry along, you follow?

Oh yeah, people would LOVE that.  Picture this: You're in an auto duel with someone.  No medkits around, no nothing.  He's almost dead.  Then, Boom! Full health!  As his bullets tear into you, your final thought is how much you HATE portable medkits.

I mean, come on.  I've heard people complain how annoying it is when an enemy kills them after a prolonged duel, then grabs a health pack.  This would be the same thing, but worse.

BF2? You're right up my alley there.

I play Medic almost nonstop online, when my connection's good.

I find the medic pack in BF2 to be rather good, as it has to recharge after use and it is tied in with reviving.

In Soldat, however, I'd love it even more, because BF2 almost never works and I adore the idea of being more supportive than I am already. I've seen it in a few mods, (Hardwar Tactics anyone?) but no servers run it.

A one-use per life medikit would be awesome. And it seems balanced, seeing as you can't carry a secondary.
Don't say that you're Magic. Because you aren't, and I am.
All-around good with weapons that aren't long range, except in TW.
Now be careful out there, soldier.

An implementation such as this will totally screw up the weapon balance, which is not a very good thing.

Furthermore, just because something sounds balanced, doesn't mean it is. There are tons more things to consider before even thinking about really adding this in.

I'll give you one now: Because people will be able to heal themselves fully in the middle of a firefight, the usage of one-hit-kill weapons will climb dramatically. Which causes more grief for the good people that test, develop, and moderate the game.

If you don't know what I mean, take a look at these threads:

Also, you might want to surf through the weapon-balance forums and read the posts about the one-hit kills, to get a better understanding of what the problem is.

Yeah, people debate about on-hit kills because the people that master those weps are good. BUT come on!! Anyone can master one-hit kill weps!! It just takes time... And there are special servers for one-hit kill weps (ex. !Elite Snipe n' Slice)
