Also are there any other (possibly new) languages that are out there and have the same possibilities of C and might be easier?

There is so much wrong with that sentence.

1. All programming languages are basically the same. Numbers, conditions and variables.
2. Each programming language has its quirks. Usually thats not what you base your preference on.
3. What do you plan on programming? Device drivers, simple applications, games? That will help you find the right language for you.

Oh sorry, Its just that I dont know much about the differences or pretty much anything in proper coding and their differences.

As for what I want... For starters, simple applications like managers, small tools, some small programs. And from there, move on to games if possible.

So games and apps mainly. Any good suggestions? Also I think ill be making 2d games rather than 3d for now.

Thanks for hearing me though.

No worries man.

VB was the first thing that came to mind which is weird cuz I'm a VB hater. C# works well for this but it takes a year or 2 to really understand the optimal way of using it.

C++ is the way to go for games (so I hear).

Or you can do Java which can do anything cross platform but its slow.

Although its slower than C (almost EVERYTHING is slow than C), its still fast enough for everything you need. Just look at source forge or something, or see the tiobe index. Java is ranked one at tiobe.

I'm looking into it but I think its just the Java gui thats so brutally slow.

Still was on top :d
Anyways, Java isn't my favourite. I'm more the fan of compiled stuff, simply because the stress of distribution to people without the Java VM or interpreters for other languages isn't worth it :S

Anyone here coding in D? Its like C++++(++++++).

If you are just starting out I would try using C# with the XNA framework for games. It is much easier than C++/directx.

That's not the D that Flippeh is referring to; the D in that article you linked is Microsoft's internal codename for an XML based declarative language they are working on, which is completely different from the D created by DigitalMars.

Your right, I missed the "code-name" part. I thought Microsoft was just trying to make other peoples stuff just vanish.

I'm actually a bit embarrassed of my code, so I won't show a screenshot. I use Microsoft Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition, because as far as I know, it's the most feature-rich .NET IDE.

No way man! I absolutely love most of them: Gedit, Geany, Nano, Eclipse, Emcas, etc. I don't really like vi, though.

I use TextMate on OS X for pretty much anything (mostly PHP, Python, JavaScript, since I use OS X at work, and I do web developing). On Windows I tend to use InType (a TextMate clone for Windows, while not quite as complete) for my needs. For C/C++ and C# I use Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 or 2008 though. You can get bigger pics by clicking the thumbnail.

On Linux I use.. Well nano. :) Or vim if I have to.
